Jowe asked: I like reading books about Dinosaurs of all kinds, even though I am a Film major at University. I have always wondered why Dinosuars existed, what their purpose was? Did they exist for practicle reasons such as keeping the earth’s prehistorical ecological systems in balance or just because they were apart of the Earth’s evolutionary process? Can anyone provide an answer? Thanks very much!

chesswizard asked: I know that it was hot and humid and it rained a lot but clearly there must have been cold winters. So I wondered if it snowed when the dinosaurs lived on earth and how they got through the cold winters.

PEGUINS ROCK asked: People say that the earth was 30 degrees warmer when the dinosaurs lived, but I can’t find any evidence on that.
Can someone please help?
Also, include if the temperature was Fahrenheit or Celsius.
If the world was NOT 30 degrees warmer when dinosaurs lived, what was the warmest the earth has ever been?

Roger asked: I wonder about this fact as if indeed the dinosaurs where wiped out by an asteroid, causing a global firestorm followed by a short term ice age climate how did birds survive. Perhaps the change was already on its way and the large dinosaurs where really already on their way out and the shift was to small animals.

Justin H asked: I know the dinosaurs became extinct about 65 million years ago. What I’m wondering is how long it took them to disappear following whatever event began their decline – whether it was a meteor or some other event.
